CREATING YOUR PATTERN:

MEASURMENTS NEEDED:
- Waist
- Desired CB Length
Halter Top
PATTERN:
BACK:
Use 4mm hook
We will begin this top at the side seam and work our way all the way across the back and then the front finishing back at this side seam.
FOUNDATION CHAIN: Ch 40 (this is where you use your CB length, chain a little bit longer than your desired length as this will decrease once you start to crochet into your chain)
ROW 1: SC into first St and then DC into next St, RT this for entire row, Ch 1 and turn
ROW 2 - desired length: This row you want to SC into every DC and DC into every SC, Ch 1 and turn
Create CB to be half the waist measurement you desire (for me this was 50ROWS OR 35CM, meaning my total waist will need to finish at around 100 rows)

FRONT FIRST THIRD:
Divide your full waist into 6 and save this measurement. We will now use this to create each third of the front. If this is not an even number round off to the nearest. (So for me I will be working with 16 ROWS as a 6th of 100 is 16.66.)
ROW 1 (or whatever row you are up to) -  SC into every DC and DC into every SC, Ch 3 and turn
ROW 2 - SC and DC into the two chains you have created before SC into every DC and DC into every SC and turn
Repeat ROWS 1 and 2 of front until I have 16 rows (or your own measurement)
FRONT SECOND THIRD:
Now we have finished increasing one side we want to work straight for the next third.
ROW 1 - desired length: SC into every DC and DC into every SC, Ch 1 and turn
Repeat ROWS 1 of front until I have 16 ROWS (or your own measurement)
FRONT LAST THIRD:
This last third we need to decrease to meet back to our side seam length and create a symmetrical front.
ROW 1 (or whatever row you are up to) -  SC into every DC and DC into every SC until you have 2 stitches left, Ch 1 and turn
ROW 2 - SC into every DC and DC into every SC, Ch 1 and turn
Repeat ROWS 1 and 2 of front until you have 16 ROWS (or your own measurement)
Ch 2 to fasten off and pull yarn through
EDGES AND TIE:
Change hook to 3mm
ROW 1: Finish along edge beginning at RHS edge of CF neckline. SC along entire edge. Ch 1
ROW 2: SC along edge until you reach LHS edge of front neckline. Ch 100 and then SC down the Ch back to your neckline. SC along neckline, Ch 100 and then SC down the Ch back to your neckline
Ch 2 to fasten off and pull yarn through
Weave in all your ends with needle
I also love to use a bit of steam from the iron to make the basket look beautiful and finished.
Now you have a beautiful Halter neck top that will be made to your own perfect fit!
